About The Owner

Hi I am Kim Scott the Owner/Operator of Doggie Designs and I would like to tell you a little bit about how I ended up in the wonderful world of dogs. I didn't realize when I was younger that dogs would be my life and my passion. I graduated from high school and went to the University of Vermont with aspirations of being a physical education teacher. While at school I adopted my first dog Morgan from the local shelter. We proceeded to make it through four years of college and finishing my degree. I then moved to New York City finding my first and only teaching job with handicapped students in the NYC public school system. Although this position was rewarding, it wasn't where I wanted to be. I found myself in the faculty lunch room thinking about the doggie daycare that I used to bring Morgan to when I was in college. At that point I decided that I wanted to own my own dog kennel and grooming business. It was in my best interest to learn how to groom and run the kennel. At the end of the school year I researched grooming schools and started at the New York School of Dog Grooming in Manhattan that next fall. Upon graduation, I found a job working for a groomer in Queens that molded me into the groomer I am today. I worked there for 2 years before moving back to New Hampshire in 2002.

New Hampshire was to only be a stopping point, but I found myself presented with the opportunity I was waiting for, my own grooming salon. I opened Doggie Designs in June of 2002. The salon was a success! After six years in business and hundreds of happy dogs as clients I was ready for the next step. I bought the property and built the building that now houses ten kennels and a grooming salon. My dream had come true. Morgan is no longer with us, but I currently have seven lovely dogs in my world. All of whom come to work with me or on beautiful summer days can be found sunbathing on the lawn next door to the kennel where I live.

I look forward to working with your dog soon!

Sincerely,
Kim Scott
